Who Is This Program For:

This program serves two different age groups: 

Protostars (7-10 Year Olds)

This program is offered for athletes aged 7 years to approximately 10 years of age.  Athletes meet twice per week during the summer to practice cycling, transition and running skills; along with the opportunity for a coached swim practice once a week. Practices are designed to be fun!  The goal of this group is for the athletes to do at least one triathlon this summer! One session is 5 weeks.

Athletes must be able to swim 25 meters freestyle (without stopping) and ride a bike without training wheels to be a part of this program. 

  • 3 Practices Per Week: $230 for 1 Session
  • 2 Practices Per Week: $180 for 1 Session

Supernova (11-14 Year Olds):

This program is offered for athletes aged 11 years to approximately 14 years of age. Athletes meet twice per week during the summer to practice cycling, transition and running skills; along with the opportunity for a coached swim practice once a week. Practices are designed to be fun!  The goal of this group is for the athletes to do at least one, if not more, triathlon! One session is 5 weeks.

Athletes in this group must be able to swim 50 yards using good freestyle form and be able to run a mile without stopping.

  • 3 Practices Per Week: $230 for 1 Session
  • 2 Practices Per Week: $180 for 1 Session

There are 3 different sites:

– New Albany: Bevelhymer Park

– Pickerington: Sycamore Park  

– Gahanna: Hannah Park

When Does This Take Place?

Session 1: Tuesday May 29- Sunday July 1 (5 weeks)

Session 2: Monday July 2- Sunday August 5 (5 weeks)

What Does My Child Get With This:

  • A safe, fun group environment led by certified and experienced coaches
  • Team T-Shirt and Medal

 

What Does My Child Need For This:

  • Bike. Any type of bike will work, as long it does not have training wheels. You don’t need to have a road or triathlon specific bike. A mountain bike or generic bike from a sporting goods store is perfect!
  • Bike Helmet. Athletes will not be able to practice without an appropriately fitted helmet. Here is a a video about finding an appropriate size helmet.
  • Running shoes that are comfortable and suited for running.  Here is a video on picking out the right pair of shoes.
  • Swim goggles, swim cap and swimsuit
  • Workout clothes (shorts and t-shirt are great for practice)
  • Water Bottle

  • A smile and good attitude!
